a single horn, lion-like body, dragon back, round alert eyes, slightly open mouth, strong limbs, scaled texture, and a trailing tail. Though similar to the qilin, Luduan is distinguished by its solitary horn — a mark of singular authority and clarity.

Because it is believed to accompany only wise rulers, Luduan became a symbol of just governance, foresight, protection, and moral authority.
