1. Product Story / Craftsmanship
This handmade jade porcelain teapot tray reflects a softer and more expressive side of the 28-Yaki aesthetic.
Formed entirely by hand, the piece retains subtle irregularities that highlight the authenticity of hand-pinched pottery. The surface preserves a slightly “antique” texture, giving it a quiet, time-worn character that contrasts beautifully with its playful illustration.
At the center, a hand-painted tabby cat appears in a relaxed and innocent posture. Surrounding it, colorful bubble motifs introduce a sense of lightness and spontaneity—symbolizing a carefree moment within the tea ritual.
The balance between traditional ceramic texture and illustrative design makes this tray visually distinctive without being overly decorative.
Functionally, it serves as a teapot holder, protecting surfaces from heat and moisture. Its proportion is especially suited for small teapots such as Baoping forms, while also working well as a cup holder, tea plate, or even a minimal fruit dish.
When paired with the jade porcelain teapot from the same series, it creates a cohesive and highly recognizable tea setting.

3. Artist Profile
You Shanzi, founder of Da You Tang Studio, is a ceramic artist with over two decades of experience in tea culture and East Asian teaware.
Having studied tea practices in Japan and collected a wide range of historical ceramics, he developed a deep understanding of the relationship between tea and its vessels. His work emphasizes not only visual aesthetics but also tactile experience and functional performance.
The “28-Yaki” series was developed in Chang’an, inspired by the ancient character “玄” (Xuan), whose form resembles the numbers 2 and 8. This series represents a synthesis of tradition, philosophy, and contemporary ceramic expression.
